Accessing Another Mailbox
When you are given access to another user's mailbox, or given access to a shared mailbox, please follow the steps below depending on which way you view emails.
Please note that you will never log directly into a mailbox, and will only every log directly into your account.
If you use the Outlook App
:
- Once the changes are made, the mailbox will sync and will automatically show on the left hand side as another mailbox as shown below.

- To view emails, you will just click on the arrow and it will open the mailbox.
- In order to send as that user, click on new email, and then in the box that opens, click on options.
- Click on the 3 dots shown below. There will be an option that says "Show Fields", click on the "From" box.

- Once you do that, it will provide a drop down that will show any current options you have to send, but with a field where you can enter other email address. There you will type in the name of the mailbox you want to add.

If you use the Outlook.com Website:
- Start by logging into your account like normal.
- In the top right hand corner you will either have your initials or a picture. Click on that and it will provide the box below.

- Click on Open another mailbox.
- In this box, type in the name of the mailbox you want to open.

- Once you open this, you will be able to send as (if given permissions), view/edit, and everything needed.
